Statistical thermodynamics (NAKE 009) 7.5 ECTS

Course description

In-deepth (advanced) course into wonderful world of Statistical Thermodynamics. This course aims to bridge the microscopic properties of single particles (Statistical Mechanics) and macroscopic properties (Thermodynamics) by studying a number of modern topics within or related to Statistical Thermodynamics. Lectures are given by experts in respeticvely field.

Course content

The course will cover from three to four different topics. Examples of such topics include: Polymer theory, Simulation techniques, (Classical) Density functional theory, Integral equations, Distribution functions and scattering, and Suspension dynamics.

Each topic will be followed by a lab practical with a hand-in lab report.
