PhD studies at the Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry provides post graduate education in all research areas available at the department. Our teachers and researchers belongs to national and international successful research groups.
The PhD studies takes place at Kemicentrum which is Scandinavias largest center for education and research in chemistry.

Education
The post graduate education program includes courses, seminars and a research project which will result in a scientific thesis, which is defended at a public defense.
The post graduate education program includes four years of full-time studies to receive a PhD and two years of full-time studies to receive a licentiate degree.
Admission
In order to be admitted to research studies, applicants must meet the general entry requirements, which are a Master’s degree or courses comprising at least 240 credits (of which at least 60 in the second cycle). There are also specific entry requirements for each subject. Normally you should have completed at least 90 credits in the subject that you want to do specialize in to be admitted to the post graduate education program.
